CiberAfterWork with Pablo San Emeterio, Mónica Valle and Eduardo Castillo

We keep meeting those crazy people who bring cybersecurity to every corner of the internet. Today there are three of them: Pablo San Emeterio, Mónica Valle and Eduardo Castillo, the team behind Ciberafterwork, a radio show that has aired every Monday on Capital Radio since 2018.

We talk about why they chose radio over television. They sum it up well: TV is spectacle and demands hoodies, keyboards and headlines, while radio is company and lets you explain cybersecurity properly without making anyone’s head spin. We agree that you have to step out of the cons and reach the business world, and that digitalising without cybersecurity is a failed digitalisation.

They tell us how each show is put together, how they see sponsorships when they make sense, and the very particular community that forms around it. And they bring back a gem, the episode in which, for the first time in more than a hundred instalments, an executive dared to tell in the first person about a cyberattack involving the theft of 1.2 million euros in cryptocurrency. Very much worth a listen.
