CiberINseguro: Learning CYBERSECURITY with RAUL BEAMUD

They say knowledge takes up no space, though perhaps it does take up a few gigs on YouTube. And inside those gigs is the Ciberinseguro channel, by Raúl Beamud, who I sit down with in this video.

Raúl describes himself as an eternal learner and tells us how the channel was born: fed up with watching friends and family fall for WhatsApp chain messages and end up with a compromised device, he figured that if the talk he was giving to five people he gave instead to a thousand, all the better. Out of that also came his free cybersecurity course from scratch, designed literally so his brother, who hasn’t got a clue about the subject, can follow it. His idea is for Ciberinseguro not to be his, but a community, which is why he opens the channel up to contributors.

We talk openly about YouTube’s strikes, which treat hacking almost like a crime and have already hit him a couple of times for uploading content, and about a philosophy we share: this isn’t done for money, it’s done to give back to the community what it once gave you.
