The CyberWeek - Interview with NoName057

We start the year strong. In this CyberWeek the Cibercapitan brings no less than an interview with NoName057, right now the most active pro-Russian actor in denial-of-service attacks. They shot to fame in 2022 and in Spain we remember them well, because they left quite a few services down in the middle of an election day, and they haven’t stopped since. Many people take them for four kids who barely do any harm, but the theory I’ve always defended, and there’s the odd report pointing that way, is that their attacks coincide in time with credential thefts and other intrusions. That’s why I’ve had them on my radar for a while.

We’re not talking to one person, but to a huge group that obviously wasn’t going to show up here even in a mask, because others tried and ended up caught. The Cibercapitan slowly built the relationship until he laid down the challenge of the interview. As always, what we read are their answers, exactly as given, unfiltered, to understand how they recruit, how they operate and why they do it.
