What is it like to WORK at INCIBE? With Rosa Diaz Moles
On this channel we’ve toured police officers, Civil Guards and all kinds of professions that protect us from cybercriminals, but in Spain there’s an institutional piece worth knowing well: the National Cybersecurity Institute, INCIBE, which looks after the security of citizens and businesses. To take a peek at what it does on the inside I sit down with Rosa Diaz, who knows the house first-hand.
Rosa tells a start that breaks the cliche of the lifelong techie. She wanted to study mathematics ever since primary school, spurred on by a teacher who passed on the passion, and graduated from the Autonomous University of Madrid. While many of her classmates leaned towards teaching, she was clear that she wanted to explore other paths, and her whole career ended up oriented towards the IT sector. She came to INCIBE, like so many good professional stories, half by chance, when in 2014 she was called to lead a team. From there we break down what this barely fifteen-year-old body really is, what services it provides and why it has become a benchmark. A conversation to understand Spanish public cybersecurity from the inside.
